Ever since his days as a Treecko, Sceptile has displayed a cool, calm, and aloof personality; preferring to seclude himself instead of being grouped with others. Nevertheless, Sceptile is extremely loyal towards those he cares about, first seen during his days as a wild Pokémon, where he worked tirelessly to protect his home. Sceptile has a tendency to keep a twig in his mouth, and often uses to display his current emotions; spitting it out whenever feeling angry or determined.
Sceptile is also an extremely proud and stubborn Pokémon, refusing to let anything or anyone insult his honor, shown during his battle against Guy's Exploud, when Grovyle searched tirelessly for Exploud after he had fled from the area, merely to finish their battle to prove his superiority over the Normal-type Pokémon. His pride can also be his greatest weakness, such as when Sceptile's heart was broken after losing the affection of a Meganium to a Tropius that he was feuding with, Sceptile's pride was shattered to the point of being unable to use any moves, something that deeply infuriated him, with Sceptile feeling ashamed of himself for his lack of power.
History
Prior to Series
Sceptile was a Pokémon Ash caught in the Hoenn Region and was one of his main Pokémon during his Hoenn and Kanto Battle Frontier journey before being sent to Professor Oak's lab. He then came back during a match in the Lily of the Valley Conference to fight and defeated a Darkrai before being defeated by a Latios.
